KYMCO (KYMCO USA) is recalling certain model year 2016 K-Pipe motorcycles manufactured March 1, 2016, to May 25, 2016. In the affected models, the gear shift pattern was assembled in a reverse sequence when compared to the standard setup. As such, these motorcycles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety…

Consequence

If the motorcycle shifts opposite of other motorcycles, a rider may be confused and may select the wrong gear, adversely affecting control of the motorcycle and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

KYMCO will notify owners, and dealers will repair the motorcycles, free of charge. The recall began on July 13, 2016. Owners may contact KYMCO customer service at 1-888-235-3417.
