Defect

Volvo Bus Corporation (Volvo Bus) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Volvo 9700 buses. Metallic debris within the electrical connectors of the Automatic Fire Suppression System (AFSS) may cause a short circuit, resulting in a false warning to the driver, an engine shutdown, and the release of chemical fire extinguishing…

Consequence

An unexpected engine shutdown increases the risk of a crash. Additionally, a disabled coach bus may require an evacuation procedure in an uncontrolled traffic situation, increasing the risk of injury to passengers.

Remedy

Prevost will inspect and remove any metallic debris from the AFSS connectors, if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 28, 2025. Owners may contact Prevost's customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Prevost's number for this recall is SR25-85.

STEERING 24V524000 2024-07-09 10 affected
Defect

Volvo Bus Corporation (Volvo Bus) is recalling certain 2024 Volvo 9700 vehicles. The castellated nuts securing the steering gear link rod to the steering arm and/or the pitman arm may not have been tightened properly, which can allow it to loosen.

Consequence

A loose steering gear link rod can cause a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Prevost will tighten the castellated nuts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 18, 2024. Owners may contact Volvo Bus customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Volvo Bus' number for this recall is SR24-84.

STEERING 24V083000 2024-02-08 8 affected
Defect

Volvo Bus Corporation (Volvo Bus) is recalling certain 2024 Volvo 9700 vehicles. The castellated nut securing the steering gear link rod to the steering arm may be loose and allow the link rod to detach.

Consequence

A detached link rod can cause a loss of steering control and increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Owners are advised not to drive their vehicle until the repair has been performed. Prevost will inspect and tighten the castellated nuts and install new cotter pins as necessary, free of charge.
