SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC 06V315000 2006-08-23 674 affected
Defect

ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THE ANTI-ROTATION STOP BOLT ON THE REAR BRAKE CALIPER MAY SHEAR ALLOWING THE CALIPER TO CONTACT THE SWING ARM.

Consequence

DAMAGE TO THE REAR BRAKE CALIPER AND SWING ARM COULD CAUSE A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE MOTORCYCLE WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH OR PERSONAL INJURY.

Remedy

DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE STOP BOLT. THE RECALL BEGAN ON SEPTEMBER 8, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT TRIUMPH AT 678-854-2010.

“The plastic fuel tank on my bike is swelling visibly. On line others on the triumph forum are also complaining of this. Probably due to ethanol in the fuel. I am concerned the tank will swell until rupture and them possibly a fire. *tr”

“Front brakes are losing effectiveness after two months of normal use. Front brake lever travel has increased to the point that I am unable to generate enough braking force in an emergency stop situation. Problem is persistent and ongoing. *jb”
