Consequence

An improperly welded seat belt anchorage bracket can detach during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy

Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2024-2026 Mack MD vehicles. When the Controller Area Network (CAN) communications are interrupted, the throttle signal from the electro mobility control unit may retain the last known throttle setting, and the engine will not return to idle as intended. Consequence

An engine that does not return to idle quickly enough can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM 24V447000 2024-06-16 24 affected
Defect

Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2024 MD vehicles. An incorrectly assembled high voltage connector could prevent the mechanical connector lock from properly engaging, allowing the high voltage cable to loosen.

Consequence

A loose high voltage cable can cause a sudden loss of steering and drive power, increasing the risk of crash.

Remedy

Owners are advised not to drive their vehicles until the remedy has been completed. Dealers will inspect and repair the mechanical connector lock as necessary, free of charge. Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2024 MMDe electric trucks. The battery management system software may cause the high-voltage battery to shut down, which can result in a sudden loss of steering control and drive power.

Consequence

A sudden loss of steering control and drive power increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Owners are advised not to drive their vehicles until the remedy has been completed. Dealers will update the battery management system software, free of charge.
