Defect

THE WELDING OF THE BRAKE MOUNTING FLANGES TO THE REAR AXLE MAY BE DEFECTIVE AND MAY BREAK. IF THIS WELD WERE TO SEPARATE DURING VEHICLE OPERATION, ADJACENT BRAKE LINES COULD BE DAMAGED.

Remedy

IF THE WELD IS FOUND TO BE INADEQUATE, THE FLANGE WILL BE REWELDED ACCORDING TO SPECIFICATIONS.

SUSPENSION 78V066000 1978-04-04 36,000 affected
Defect

THE BOLTS THAT ANCHOR FORWARD MOUNTING BRACKETS FOR THE REAR SPRINGS MAY LOOSEN.

Remedy

THE DEALER WILL REPLACE THE ORIGINAL BOLTS WITH IMPROVED BOLTS AND NUTS.
