Defect

Consequence

Difficulty steering can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Dealers will replace the worm gear spring and redistribute or add grease as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 18, 2024. Owners may contact Honda Customer Service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are SJS, MJU, QJT and VJV.

“On november 8, 2025,at approximately 9:00 a.m. , I was driving on the freeway at approximately 60 to 65 mph. All of a sudden the steering wheel stiffened and locked up and car pulled to right, at same time the engine malfunction light flashed on. This lasted for a moment then steering felt normal…”

“I’ve been having some strange steering issues with my car. It feels like i’m driving something with a bent frame, especially when I go over 40 mph. The front driver’s side wheel pulls to one side, and sometimes it feels like the rug is being pulled out from under me. It really freaks me out.…”
