Defect
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES. THESE VEHICLES WERE BUILT WITH AN INCORRECT LABELING ON THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CONSOLE.
Consequence
THE IMPROPER LABELING COULD CAUSE A DRIVER TO PARK THE VEHICLE WITHOUT APPLYING THE PARKING BRAKE, WHICH COULD ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO ROLL AWAY AND CAUSE A CRASH OR INJURY.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL RELABEL THE VEHICLE CONSOLE AND PLACE A STICKER ON THE CONSOLE WARNING OF THE NEED TO USE THE PARKING BRAKE.
