Consequence
Damaged brake jumper wires can result in power brake assist failure, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will remove the installed wire harness, apply protective tape, and reinstall the wire harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters are planned to be mailed December 22, 2025. Defect
General Motors (GM) is recalling certain 2019-2024 Chevrolet Silverado Medium Duty 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD vehicles. The brake pressure sensor assembly may leak brake fluid into the brake pressure switch and cause a short circuit.
Consequence
An electrical short in the brake pressure switch can overheat the circuit and increase the risk of a fire while driving or parked.
Remedy
Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will replace the brake pressure switch wire harness, free of charge.
