Defect
AIRSTREAM IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 FLYING CLOUD TRAVEL TRAILERS. THESE VEHICLES WERE BUILT WITH AXLES RATED AT 3,800 LBS. THE VEHICLES SHOULD HAVE BEEN BUILT WITH AXLES RATED AT 4,400 LBS.
Consequence
TOWING A VEHICLE WITH THE AXLE LOADED BEYOND THE SPECIFIED WEIGHT RATING MAY RESULT IN AXLE FAILURE LEADING TO POOR VEHICLE HANDLING INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE AXLES WITH ONE'S RATED AT 4,400 LBS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 31, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT AIRSTREAM AT 1-877-246-7731.
