Defect

THE A.I.R./ EXHAUST CHECK VALVES AT THE ENGINE MAY MALFUNCTION ALLOWING HOT EXHAUST GASES TO PASS INTO THE RUBBER HOSES WHICH NORMALLY CARRY UNHEATED AIR.

Consequence

THE HOT EXHAUST GASES THAT PASS THROUGH THE CHECK VALVETO THE RUBBER HOSES HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO MELT AND/OR IGNITE THE RUBBER HOSE.THE MELTED OR IGNITED RUBBER HOSE WILL DAMAGE THE SURROUNDING COMPONENTS ANDTHE FIRE MAY CAUSE FURTHER VEHICLE DAMAGE OR PERSONAL INJURIES.

Remedy

REPLACE THE MALFUNTIONING CHECK VALVES.
