What owners report

Verbatim reports filed with NHTSA, lightly edited for readability and with personal information removed.

“Final drive failed locking the rear wheel. I was sent a dealer notice on ring gear bolt failure due to low grade bolts dated in 2010. The other ural of this vintage I know of in kansas city also experienced this problem in june of 2013 at around 12,000 km.”

“Noted bolt holding the front brake rotor on failed and dropped out while driving. Investigation revealed the remaining 5 bolts were stretched out and deformed due to poor quality bolts. A failure would result in loss of braking ability and likely locking the front wheel causing injury.”
