Defect

ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THERE MAY BE A POOR WELD ON THE REAR SUSPENSION UNIT BODY.

Consequence

FAILURE OF THE REAR SUSPENSION UNIT MAY COMPROMISE THE STABILITY OF THE MOTORCYCLE WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.

Remedy

DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE REAR SUSPENSION UNITS. THE RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMBER 20, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT TRIUMPH AT 1-678-854-2010.

“Dt*: the contact stated while slowing to a stop from 25 mph, there was a loud grinding noise. Upon inspection, the contact noticed that the rear brake pads on the vehicle were worn down to the metal. A service dealer was notified, as well as the manufacturer.”
