Defect

THE "BATTERY BUDDY" SYSTEM IS DESIGNED TO LIMIT THE AMOUNT OF RESERVE BATTERY POWER. INSTALLATION IN THESE CONVERSION VANS CAN CAUSE THE BATTERY TO SHORT AT ANY TIME.

Consequence

THE SHORTED BATTERY CAN CAUSE AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING.

Remedy

TO ELIMINATE THE POSSIBILITY OF AN ELECTRICAL SHORT, SERVICE CENTERS ARE DIRECTED TO RELOCATE THE "BATTERY BUDDY" SYSTEM IN THE VEHICLE.
