Defect

ENTRY DOORS MAY NOT MEET LONGITUDINAL LOAD REQUIREMENTS DUE TO OMISSION OF MUSHROOM CAP ON THE STRIKER PIN, REQUIRED BY FMVSS 206.

Consequence

UNDER SEVERE CONDITIONS, SUCH AS EXTREME IMPACT TO THE MODULAR BOX OR A ROLLOVER, DOORS COULD SEPARATE FROM THE PIN AND OPEN; THIS WOULD ALLOW OCCUPANTS TO BE EXPELLED FROM AMBULANCE IF NOT SECURED BY SAFETY BELTS.

Remedy

INSTALL NEW STRIKER PINS THAT MEET FMVSS 206 REQUIREMENTS.
