Defect

Manac Inc. (Manac) is recalling certain 2013-2018 Steel Dropdeck, 2017 Extendable Steel Dropdeck, and 2018 Steel Flatbed trailers equipped with steel side rails and lashing chains. The lashing chains may break which can allow the cargo to slide or tip during transit.

Consequence

Broken lashing chains can allow the cargo to slide or tip, increasing the risk of injury or crash.

Remedy

Manac will notify owners and dealers will install an aluminum shim under the floor between the tie-down extrusion and the siderail, free of charge. The recall began August 1, 2018. Owners may contact Manac customer service at 1-800-361-7900.
