Defect
TWO SCREWS THAT HOLD DETENT RAIL TO VALVE BODY CAN LOOSEN AND BACK OUT. ALSO, VALVE BODY CAN BREAK AT POINT WHERE DETENT RAIL ATTACHING SCREWS ARE THREADED INTO BODY.
Consequence
DETENT RAIL WOULD BECOME FREE RESULTING IN PARKING BRAKECONTROL HANDLE JAMMING AND NOT RELEASING OR ENGAGING THE PARKING BRAKE.
WITH USE, ACCELERATOR CABLE CAN BECOME FRAYED AND BIND OR BREAK IN ITS HOUSING, WIHTOUT PRIOR WARNING.
Consequence
THROTTLE WOULD NOT OPERATE PROPERLY; THIS COULD RESULT INLOSS OF TRUCK CONTROL AND AN ACCIDENT.
Remedy
REPLACE ORIGINAL STYLE ACCELERATOR CABLE WITH CABLE DESIGNED TO PREVENT FRAYING.
