Defect

A FUSE WAS OMITTED IN THE SOLAR PANEL CIRCUIT BETWEEN THE RV BATTERY AND THE SOLAR PANEL.

Consequence

IF A SHORT CIRCUIT OCCURRED IN THE SOLAR PANEL CIRCUIT, IT COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.

Remedy

DEALERS WILL INSTALL AN IN-LINE 2 AMP FUSE WITHIN 18" OF THE RV BATTERY.

PARKING BRAKE 94V047000 1994-03-11 72 affected
Defect

HIGH TEMPERATURES PRODUCED BY THE GENERATOR EXHAUST PIPE CAN RESULT IN HEAT DISTORTION AND SUBSEQUENT RUPTURE OF THE AIR LINES. A RUPTURE WOULD CAUSE A MALFUNCTION OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AIR PRESSURE GAUGES AND/OR ENGAGEMENT OF THE MANUAL PARKING/EMERGENCY BRAKE.

Consequence

IF THE AIR LINE RUPTURES, THE MANUALPARKING/EMERGENCY BRAKE WILL ENGAGE, ABRUPTLY STOPPING THE VEHICLE WITHOUT WARNING, WHICH CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.

STEERING 94V019000 1994-02-01 102 affected
Defect

IMPROPER TORQUE OF THE RETAINING BOLTS AND NUTS OF THE STEERING COLUMN SLIP SHAFT, WHICH PROVIDES THE CONNECTING LINK BETWEEN THE UPPER STEERING COLUMN AND THE STEERING GEAR BOX, MAY CAUSE THE STEERING COLUMN SLIP SHAFT TO SEPARATE AT EITHER THE UPPER OR LOWER CONNECTION OF THE SHAFT.

Consequence

SEPARATION OF THE STEERING COLUMN SLIP SHAFT AT EITHER THE UPPER OR LOWER CONNECTION OF THE SHAFT RESULTS IN LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL. THIS COULD OCCUR WITHOUT WARNING AND RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH.

Remedy

INSPECT AND RETORQUE THE SLIP SHAFT RETAINING BOLTS AND NUTS. HOWEVER, IF, AFTER THE INSPECTION, THE BOLTS AND NUTS ARE FOUND TO BE LOOSE OR OVERTORQUED, NEW BOLTS AND NUTS WILL BE INSTALLED AND PROPERLY TORQUED.

“I own a 1994 holiday rambler imperial 36 feet motor home. In august of 2000 I purchased 6 new michelin xrv 255/80r22.5 tires . The new tires are marked ?dot b6h6 ak3 x 1800?.mileage was about 75,000 miles on the old 235/80r22.5 xzu4 tires, on the rv since new with no problems. 1) the first blowout…”
