ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THE THROTTLE CABLES COME INTO CONTACT WITH THE TUNNEL PORTION OF THE FUEL TANK.
Consequence
IN THIS CONDITION, THE CABLES COULD EVENTUALLY WEAR THROUGH THE TANK, CAUSING A FUEL LEAK. FUEL LEAKAGE, IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE CABLE AND TANK, REPOSITION THE CABLE AND, IF NECESSARY, REPAIR OR REPLACE THE TANK AND/OR CABLES FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 31, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HARLEY-DAVIDSON AT 1-414-343-4056.
