Defect

THE WIRE USED TO POWER THE ELECTRONIC MEMORY ON A RADIO INSTALLED IN THE REAR OF THE MOTORHOME WAS INCORRECTLY ROUTED DIRECTLY TO THE HOT SIDE OF THE BATTERY DISCONNECT SOLENOID, AND HAS NO FUSE PROTECTION.

Consequence

THE UNFUSED ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT CAN OVERLOAD AND OVERHEAT,RESULTING IN A FIRE OF THE ELECTRICAL INSULATING MATERIAL AND POSSIBLY SPREADINGFIRE AND NOXIOUS FUMES THROUGH THE INTERIOR OF THE MOTORHOME.

Remedy

INSTALL A FUSE AND FUSE HOLDER TO PROPERLY PROTECT THE CIRCUIT.
