ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, FUEL CAN LEAK FROM THE FUEL PUMP FLANGE.
Consequence
FUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE CAN RESULT IN A FIRE.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL INSTALL SPACERS BETWEEN THE FUEL PUMP FLANGE AND THE FUEL TANK, AND WILL ALSO REPLACE THE FLANGE GASKET IF IT IS DAMAGED.
