Defect

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Digger Derrick vehicles. The vertical center of gravity with poles in the pole rack was not calculated properly, resulting in an incorrect pole rack capacity rating.

Consequence

While using the pole rack at full capacity, an incorrect high vertical center of gravity during braking and cornering may lead to a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Defect

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2023-2026 Service Body, Aerial Device, Pressure Digger, Spray Truck, and Digger Derrick vehicles. The low tire pressure rating printed on the final stage certification label is incorrect.

Consequence

An incorrect pressure rating may lead to underinflated tires, increasing the risk of a tire blowout or a crash.

Remedy

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2021-2025 Digger Derrick and 2021-2025 AM Series Aerial Device vehicles. The chassis engine may start unintentionally due to a missing diode in the Altec power distribution module.

Consequence

An engine that starts unexpectedly increases the risk of injury to anyone near the engine compartment during maintenance operations.

Remedy

Altec will provide instructions to inspect the power distribution module for a diode, and provide a repair kit as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 27, 2026. Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Aerial Device and Digger Derrick vehicles. The electronic taillight module harness may have inadequate circuit protection.

Consequence

Wiring without adequate protection may short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy

Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2011-2025 Aerial Device, Digger Derrick, and 2022-2025 Service Body vehicles. The cable step wire rope assembly may be improperly secured, which can allow the cable entry step to detach from the vehicle.

Consequence

A cable step that fails during use increases the risk of injury.

Remedy

Altec will provide owners with instructions to inspect the cable crimps. If the cables are improperly crimped, Altec will provide instructions and a kit to replace the wire rope assemblies. Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Altec Aerial Device, Digger Derrick, and Pressure Digger vehicles. The chassis ignition circuit may be overloaded, which can result in a blown fuse and cause an engine shutdown.

Consequence

An engine shutdown increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Consequence

Gearbox failure may result in unexpected turntable rotation, increasing the risk of injury.

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2004-2023 DL42 and DL45 Digger Derricks. The incorrect hydraulic load holding valve may have been installed, which can cause the winch to lower uncontrollably and the load to fall.

Consequence

An uncontrolled load falling increases the risk of injury to personnel or others nearby.

Remedy

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Aerial Devices (AT, TA, L44, L45, LR8, AA, AM, AN) and D series Digger Derricks (DH, DL, DM, DT). The power inverter that converts electrical DC power to AC power may have been installed without a circuit breaker to protect the AC output circuit.

Consequence

Without a circuit breaker, the AC circuit may overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2021-2023 DT85 Digger Derricks. The Boom pressure limiter may allow the boom to lift loads above the rated capacity and over the Hydraulic Overload Protection (HOP) setting.

Consequence

Lifting loads above the boom capacity could overload the unit and cause instability, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy

Altec will provide instructions to owners to test the boom lift pressure limiter setting and set it to the correct pressure, free of charge.
