Defect

Altec Industries (Altec) is recalling certain 2024-2026 AC Series Crane vehicles. The inside joints between the side plates and the base plates of the 26-foot insulating personnel jib (IJ26) may be missing welds.

Consequence

Missing welds can lead to platform joint failure due to fatigue or overload, resulting in the platform falling from the boom tip, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy

Altec will advise owners to inspect the IJ26 jib for missing welds. If the welds are missing, the jib should be taken out of service immediately.
