Filed by Vantage Mobility. Component: Fuel System, Gasoline. Reported 2019-01-04. An estimated 9 vehicles are affected. Recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer.
Defect
Vantage Mobility International, LLC (Vantage) is recalling certain 2014-2017 AMS Edge II vehicles. The fuel pump gasket may deteriorate, allowing fuel to leak. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 301, "Fuel System Integrity."
Risk
A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.
What the manufacturer will do
Vantage has notified owners, and repair facilities will replace the fuel tank with a redesigned fuel tank, free of charge. The recall began on January 28, 2019. Owners may contact Vantage customer service at 1-800-488-9082.
