NHTSA Recall 15V154000
Filed by Hyundai Translead. Component: Service Brakes, Air. Reported 2015-03-17. An estimated 3,412 vehicles are affected. Recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer.
Defect
Hyundai Translead (HT) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Original, Composite, Composite XT, HyCube and Dolly trailers manufactured January 1, 2014, to December 31, 2014 equipped with certain Haldex Life Seal Type 30/30 Long Stroke Air Brake Actuators. The affected vehicles may experience brake drag due to an improperly seated diaphragm in the brake chamber.
Risk
Brake drag may result in a wheel end fire.
What the manufacturer will do
Hyundai Translead will notify owners, and dealers will replace the actuators, free of charge. The recall began on August 21, 2015. Owners may contact Hyundai Translead customer service at 1-800-251-0871.
